PlaysLinda A Firestone earned her BA in acting and speech from Northeastern University. Her studies continued at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts original graduate program. (Kevin Klein, Wally Shawn and other notable actors and actresses graduated from this program as well.)After receiving her MA in Acting, Linda entered the world of professional theatre. During her years in New York she performed in plays, movies, and on radio and television. She began teaching at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts Studio program soon after its inception. She stayed there for 8 years until she shifted her focus to writing. She returned to school to earn her Ph.D. exploring asthetics and the creative process. That path led to her formal career as an author and freelance writer. She has authored several plays which have had staged readings at the 92nd St. Y in Manhattan, have been semi-finalist in a national new plays contest, and she has collaborated on a local political satire performed at the Ft. Lauderdale/Broward Center for the Performing Arts. |
